Thanksgiving. These wines were selected because of Matt's birthyear and his recent birthday. Unbelievable how well these have aged. Brownish and pinkish hints on the color. Dick remarked that these tasted "burgundian." I was amazed at how much fruit was left. red cherries and nice floral and earth notes.

Blind Tasting 1968-79 Ridge Geyservilles (Tom's House, Palo Alto, CA): Nose is a bit reticent, cherry, touch of mint. Medium bodied with low to medium acidity. Cherry, autumn leaves on the palate. Mature and balanced. (my 4th, group's 3rd)

UK wine-pages Geyserville Vertical (London): Remarkably vivid tasting, almost youthful. A tribute to the ageing potential of this wine.
