A pristine bottle - perfect fill, perfect cork. Lovely nose again, full of damson plums and rosehip, amid the red cherry and blackcurrant. The attack is fresh and almost primary, amazingly youthful, with ripe blackberry again, before the red fruits kick in, especially the red cherry, but the plums are prominent in the mix too. It's just a really tasty wine. Not the gravitas of the best, but a great example of Dauzac and a very good example of Margaux in 2000.

My last bottle left a good impression. A good 20 years of almost linear development this Margaux has kept its charm over the past 5 years. Fully matured, enjoyable, with a feminine Margaux touch, toffee, cocoa, roast, plum and tea aromas. Drink now and over the next 3 years.

Wonderful nose of earth, tar, leather, mild herbaceous notes, perhaps a currant/dark cherry. Nice structure to the tannins and balanced acidity. There’s a touch of an alcohol note as well. Really lovely wine drinking at what we consider to be peak. Clearly life left in the tank but singing at the moment.

Bright medium ruby with zero color degradadation. Smoky bbq, strawberry kolache, and sweet raspberries on the nose. Sweet raspberries dominate along with a hint of BBQ, and a delicacy that borders on Burgundian. Super delicious with a finish that extends the deliciousness forever.

(Chateau Dauzac) This was expectingly tight but showed great promise. The nose had lots of crushed stones, violets and not much fruit. The palate was soft and juicy with tremendous fruit concentration and purity. Very long. Really well put together wine. I love this vintage. Just that great combo of freshness, depth of fruit and incredible purity.
