Tasted one hour after opening. Pretty lean at first, but by hour 2 it was expressing red and dark fruits, earth, cedar, smoke, and leather. Brick edges to the wine. Tannins quite soft. A classic left bank wine that is starting its decline. Finish rather abrupt and short. Drink up!

Fairly decent shape bottle, part of an unopened OWC. Still slightly fruity, with hints of cedar and leather, the nose is characteristic of left bank. Silky tannins and a typical old wine profile in the palate. I’d drink this in the coming year max.

Robert Parker rated this wine an 88 twenty years ago. He was right. It is perfectly drinkable, but not much more than that. Perhaps the second half of the bottle tomorrow night will be better, but I doubt it.

At good spot to drink. Harmonious but needs air to open up. Austere at first but opens up to a classic left bank bottle with age. A bottle with generous fruit, age and left bank character.

With a top shoulder fill and a dried out cork that broke even with an ah-so, my expectations were not high. But this was by far the best Prieure Lichine I've ever experienced. I think I caught it right in the evolutionary sweet spot. Very Margaux, very feminine. Tannins present but hiding silkily. Decent length. Not a "blockbuster" style at all, kinda old school. My one nit would be the nose remained fairly muted.
