A Few Wines with BBQ (Bannockburn, IL): Lots of black fruit and spice, but also lots of pronounced new oak. Much better with food than on its own, I like the potential here, but don't think it a particularly great vintage for Grange.
Had it the same night as Ricky below and found the v same experience. Half way through the case so will continue drinking one bottle a year. Saying good bye to my biggest wine friend we were v lucky to tryalongside a Latour 90 and I thought the Latour would blow this away...it didn't
Decanted 2 hours. Nose was very strong, blackberry, vanilla, very fruit forward. Mouthfeel is quite creamy and silky. Flavors vanilla, black fruit, raspberry and oak. Weight medium plus, acid low. A Little cigar ash nose comes out after a while. Great wine, but very forward.
