W lebanese lamb dish. Good combo. Started out with some menthol flavors but opened up. Well made but i dintthink ithas muchupside which is strange as that was Gramercy’s goal. Solid wine

Like virtually every Gramercy syrah I've had, this nicely toes the line between New World big/burly fruit and Old World savory restraint. The nose is loaded with smoked meat and olive tapenade. Chewy and a bit meaty and rustic, yet with pretty floral notes, almost like a Levet Cote Rotie. Finishes with peppery, silky tannins. Gained elegance with air on day 2, and seems to have plenty of life left.

Unlike a lot of recent review, I thought this had a lot of life left in it. Out of the gate, so much fruit I thought it was a Paso wine. After an hour of air, everything started to come into balance. Maybe not worth the tariff, but still a good wine.

W smoked pork butt w spicy Korean sauces. Jamie and Greg for dinner. Good combo, maybe a bit too elegant. The rougher 2013 Lagniappe worked better with the food, but the JL was really good, good length and structure. As in my other notes : drink up wont get better and is good now.

This was nice but not terribly special. Possibly I kept this too long and it’s on the decline.
