Golden orange color. Entrancing nose of apples, fresh guava, and almonds. I could sit and sniff at this all night. The palate is clean yet persistent, with very subtle flavors of fruit and spice. This is my first Fine de Bourgogne (what a maiden voyage!) and I lack proper criteria on which to evaluate this, so I am tasting it in the framework of an Armagnac or a Calvados. I'd rather have this any day. Exuding beauty and elegance, this is lovely.

I'm a bit uncomfortable rating this as it was shared with me by Waagner in a very informal setting, but I have to mention it, as I enjoyed it so much! Such sheer class! Sure, the alcohol is high but from what I understand this is "brut de fut" and thus you may add water as you see fit, they are only doing you a favour of not diluting the product before it is being served to you. Somehow, this reminded me of one of the best Agricole Rhum's I have ever tried (coincidentally also a 1993 from J.M., Martinique) with it's ripe, almost sweet aroma of ripe berries and rose-petal pot-pourri (although sugar has no smell, I know, I know). Flavour was full bodied and with great intensity (as you would expect) but to me beautifully rounded and long, given the cask strength - though being only ~45% I guess this was expected but it certainly lived up to the expectations! Beautiful dram, even for a whisky lover!

This is wonderful. After a few minutes a lovely marcipan smell appears, Orange peel . Spices and toffee also present. Long aftertaste
