Nose: Wonderful, rustic aromas of rhubarb, moss, and tree bark. Very cool and atypically complex nose for this price point. Palate: The palate mirrors the complex nose with rhubarb, dark cherry, forest floor, and hints of vanilla. Good acidity but nothing is overstated...in many ways the ideal equalateral triangle. This wine stikes the perfect balance of secondary character and fruit (Burgundy meets Cali). It is slightly light but that is the only criticism, and at well under $20 ($15 on sale) even that criticism is unfounded. This is just an amazing Pinot for $15 on sale and thus far the best Pinot QPR I've drunk in 2012. Who would think Cline, known primarily for their big Zins and some Rhone blends, would do so well with Pinot? A real sleeper!

Cherry, strawberry at the start that builds to a medium-strong finish of leather/wood. Very good!
