A nose of jammy dark fruits and spice, dark purple in color. A Full bodied full throttle Zin, with blackberry, black cherry, vanilla spice on long finish. The alcohol is mostly held in check, a Zin lovers Zin and a great value. www.winelx.com
Was looking for a heady red wine that would stand up to my Labor Day BBQ (smoked baby back ribs & brisket) and this fit the bill perfectly. This is a fully-extracted, mouth-filling Lodi AVA wine with 16% alcohol. Definitely a fruit bomb, so there may be people that do not like this style. There was tremendous depth - blackberry fruit, spice (nutmeg), hint of coffee. Classic Zin tastes, just a bit more on the robust side. Think we paid in the mid-20's for this, worth it. Drinking perfectly now, might mellow a tad in 2015.
