This really caught my attention at today's old guys lunch. And why not??? Most Special Clubs I've tasted are more "special" than not. I loved its harmony between rich tasty fruit and racy zip! This might have one upped my Bollinger Special Cuvee a bit. Totally in my wheelhouse and could have drank half the blt if I wasn't sharing with 5 other buddies. Impressive for its; mouthfeel, intensity, purity, concentration, balance & sure footed serenely! Thanks Tom! My WOTL (lunch)! 94+

Sangiovese study (Chicago, IL): From magnum. Surprisingly thinner than I would have expected at this point, this wine is dominated by its 2008 acidity and if I'm being totally honest, not much else. The magnum format has meant that this wine is aging at a slow pace, and this feels a little awkward at the moment, as much of the primary characteristics seem to have faded away, while the secondary characteristics have yet to develop.

Awesome at Scaramouche with Erin and Rich. Fruit forward, definitely Granny Smith apple and Meyer lemon. Paired great with appetizers !!

Out of magnum. This held it's effervescence and freshness over three days. A solid fruit-driven Champagne with plenty of interesting nuance.
