  • Jura study (Chicago, IL): Very slightly spritzy on the palate. A good amount of bitter, Chinese-medicine, chinato-like elements on the palate. "Dried roots," like in Chinese medicine is also a pretty good descriptor here. Others liked this for those herbal elements, I preferred the more fruit-driven 2014 alongside.

  • Esteemed producer, nicknamed “The Pope of Arbois” by his fellow neighbors and other winemakers of the region. Made from single varietal of Trousseau and it is the finest red Jura I’ve tasted yet. Pale+ red colour. Medium intensity aroma of cherries, strawberries, earth, spices, touch of barnyard. Palate feels of Burgundian spirit with extraordinary elegance and finesse, velvety and delicate texture, fresh and earthy red fruit flavours with funky barnyard hints, bright acidity and powdery structured tannins.

  • not my first Puffeney, but my first one paying close attention
nose - very pretty. i get fresh strawberry mostly but perhaps a whiff of acetone if i inhale deeply
mouth - initial impression is of lovely fruit purity. a very clean transparent strawberry raspberry attack is followed by a slightly bitter and complex midpalate, finishing with astringent tannins. benefits from food. with better textural mouthfeel this could be sublime.

  • Rich nose with red fruit (Cherries, ripe Strawberries) forrest floor, a Touch of salt licorice
Intensive taste, initially with cherries, salt licorice, but later different complex layers of tertiary aromas, and a very long aftertaste.
As usual a treat to drink Puffeney wines🍷🍷🍷
