Decanted 1 hr. Enjoyed much more than previous bottle. Fuller mouth feel, good dark fruit, with a nice balance. Seems to be in a prime drinking window, but can hold up another few years

March 22, 2014 - Pnp, very approachable from the start. No need for decanting and don't see any improvement coming from additional cellar time. Prominent flavors of red currants and cherry pie, which carries through the mid palate and a short finish. An enjoyable wine, but better valued at half the price.

Surprised by this blend from a Zin producer. Somewhat rustic. I expected more zin fruit but this was very structured and balanced. Good food wine. Looking forward to the rest in my cellar over the next few years. May improve to the 90-92 range.

I'm not sure if it's just bottle, but the fruit in this one seems noticeably faded since I tried the previous one, less than a yer ago. Still has the spicy, brambly, quality, but the acid seems a bit out of balance.

A very hearty, rustic wine. Nose of blackberry, white pepper, creosote, asphalt, and underbrush -- interesting mix of zin, cab, and petite verdot. On the palate, chewy blackberry, currant, and black cherry. Opened very tannic, but mellowed with some air. Nice, spicy finish -- initially showed some alcohol heat but this too mellowed with air. Great for a winter's eve . . . .
