Popped up in a local reputable store a few weeks ago for a friggin steal so I couldn’t pass them up…bought the shelf
Tasted tonight with filet and it was a delight; I agree with the previous note stating that the drinking window should be extended, though I think the best time is now.
A very deep garnet color, typical of a 15yr wine. Dried fruit, black fruits, and pencil on the nose. Nicely balanced in the mouth; tannins are moderate yet still grippy but acidity keeps it all together and ends in a long finish. The French oak is present for sure but not overwhelming.
Better than the 2007 I think, although I didn’t have this one young, nor the ‘07 late. Glad I bought the shelf out.

CT windows put this past it’s prime, but I’m pretty sure they are off. I think this was pretty tasty, lots of fruit, but with significant, but not overwhelming, tannins. Enjoy!

Agree with comments that suggest this wine has likely peaked. Still quite lovely with rich fruit and aromatics, but really did not change much over three hours and tannins have resolved. Drink now.

Drinking very well right now, a very good QPR wine, definitely recommend and time to drink up any holdings - no further upside to more cellaring. Soft, balanced, dark purple, oak and tannins all gone but a solid fruit and acid core remain and drinking elegantly and beautifully right now. Nose of dark fruit, brambles and rose with an initially dark fruit palate that gave way to more mocha, coffee and chocolate notes on the end.

As before, lots of dark fruit and spices with great texture. Drink or hold.
