Very disappointing bottle to open. After removing foil top, the cork looked suspiciously compromised. Worst cork removal experience I have had in my lifetime and no matter how careful I was in the removal process, the cork just crumbed apart in each stage from the top of the cork to the final end. The wine clearly damaged. It appears that Frescobaldi did not use care in corking process.

This is gorgeous, dark cherry liqueur, oak nicely integrated, velvety with that savoury freshness. Tobacco and earth as well, but smoothness is probably best description as it is now. These chiantis, pays off extremely well with mid-term cellaring, offering tremendous value and bringing uncomplicated drinking pleasure. +1 for value.
