Big surprise of evening. Probably first Chilean wine that I have truly enjoyed. Soft, muted flavors but in no way flabby or exhausted. Fruit is present but think slightly overripe plum and just a hint of sweetness. Found this wine through auction and more of after thought than anything. Now am glad I purchased and can’t wait to try the 04.
Bought six originally and this is the fourth. Except for moving from one house with a cellar to another with wine coolers, this has been stored properly for 15-16 years. Holding up remarkably: elegant, dark fruits, smooth but still present firm tannins; tobacco. Long finish. There is moderate sediment in the bottle.

Honestly I was pleasantly surprised that this wine wasn’t past its prime. Red licorice on the nose. Red currants with a spice notes followed by a leathery tobacco finish. Still holding some soft tannins. Puente alto gets high praise.

Dark ruby red in color. Notes of plum, cassis, tobacco and Licorice. Dry, med body, med acidity and elegant tannins. Med finish. At 18 years this wine is showing the elegance of age, but still some nice fruit. As other notes state this can hold its own with any Bordeaux at twice the price. Not an inexpensive wine but has great QPR.
