Well balanced. Nose of hay, leather, bing cherry, maraschino cherry, damp oak and must. Flavors of bing cherry, plum, green peppercorn, tobacco. Really enjoyed this wine. It has dark, rich fruit with nice tobacco and subtle oak flavors. Really nicely balanced, with a long finish. Most definitely worth $15. Should be drunk soon - in it's prime now.

This bottle was very good -- leather, dark cherries, a hint of oak, mild tannin. Went well with an Asian salmon recipe. My previous bottle seems to have been flawed, in retrospect, or there is some bottle variance.

I still like this wine for the money, but not as much as my previous bottle. Leather and oak on opening which diminished over time. Herbal notes, and semi-sweet flavor with mild tannin got the job done. Not sure if there's bottle variance or it is starting to decline with age... Probably worth drinking sooner rather than later.

Nice example of a Rioja but doesn't blow your socks off. Gonna compare this to a lightweight Zin with more acidity. This is probably my favorite varietal so I might be being a little harsh but I can recall better. However, we're pairing this with a ball tip joint that's busy on the Primo Ceramic BBq and this bottle isn't going to make it to the dinner. I I guess it's pretty damn fine and likely I will have burnt the steak to a crisp what with the wine and this review :-). Anyhow, hints of cherry, woody overtones and peppery as expected, light viscosity and definite tannin and acid present... Chin chin

Raspberry, cherry and fig, very appealing fruit but woody tasting, astringent and sharp.
