  • Pleasantly surprised at how well this works né is drinking after additional cellar again.

Dark burgundy color. Blue berry, plum, cherry, hints of cedar and strawberry, and earth on the nose. Well balanced and silky with soft to medium tannins. Cherry, plum, black currant, and cedar with an earthiness on the palate. Nice acidity, especially on the very long finish. Really opened up after 45 minutes in the glass. This can likely go a few years in the cellar. 89-90.

  • Quite fruit forward and delicious, but not very varietally correct compared to Barbaresco/Barolo

  • Unscrewed and left open for an hour. Shows bright, intense rose, tar, oak, and dusty red soil notes. I would say this is beautifully honest wine, showing exactly what good Nebbiolo should. It unabashedly wears its new world chops too, with all the flavors, aromas, and textures being amped up, yet still in harmony. Went extremely well with pork loin. I don't know if it'll get much better but it's delicious right now.

  • This is one of the best non-Piedmont Nebbiolos that Imhave tasted. Granted, there is much competition; Nebbiolo is probably the major wine grape that travels the poorest, but here is one that I would not hesitate to put against a good Barolo or -- more to the point -- Barbaresco. Like the latter it has a somewhat ethereal bouquet of crushed rose petals with just a hint of the darker tar notes. The wine is medium-dark (no one should expect inky black even from the most robust Barolo) and medium bodied.
On the palate it is quite smooth, with most of the tannins smooth and largely evolved. Gorgeous dark fruit and now quite tarry favors with a great finish. Lacks a bit of complexity, Baku all of a piece. At its plateau now; drink over next 2-3 years.
