One hour decant. Dark fruits and a bit of tar on the nose, dark cherry and forest and a bit of spice on the palate. Full red, clean finish, tannins integrated. A very nice wine with food or on its own with a book. Classy now, and almost too easy to drink as it disappeared sooner than hoped. Should have many years ahead.
Showed surprisingly well right out of the gate but really clamped down after a couple hours. This has such poise and class. It's NSG, but well-mannered. There's good concentration here, but the wine remains lithe - a mix of slightly singed red & black fruit with undertones of earth and spice. The finish is a touch clipped, but nevertheless this should improve. You hardly realize you're reaching for another glass...
Great textural elements. Surprisingly fruit driven but starting to develop some secondary notes. The palate shows some spicy and mineral qualities with excellent back end cling. Should be great in 3-5 more.
