Beautiful ruby color that turns to pink at the rim. Somewhat unfocused nose that is a bit if a surprise from this producer. There are violets and red fruit but also a very prominent medicinal character that is not that pleasant. The palate is filled with tart juicy fruit yet there is significant structure on the backend. I have a few more bottles and will keep them a minimum of 5 to 7 years. Surprisingly very youthful. We will see how it rounds into form. The last glass was by far the best – open early if drinking soon. (88+?)
Fantastic villages here. Brings all things Chambolle. Medium purple-red. Interesting and well-rounded aromatics. Simultaneous elegance and power on the palate. Gets a little heavy and dark-fruited on day two -- definitely better on day one. No need to rush on these, but in a great place right now.
Pale/medium ruby core, medium pale ruby rim. Nose is slightly reticent, strawberry fruit, some darker fruit notes, earth and mineral notes. Medium bodied on the palate, attractive strawberry and raspberry on the initial attack, some firm underlying tannins which are a touch too prominent at this point and overshadow and constrain the medium length finish. Should improve from here.
About a year since I last tasted. Big, backward, slightly tannic, acidic, youthful, not sure about the balance here. Young red fruit -- tart, somewhat unfriendly. Awkward. I guess you get it by now. I'd hold for at least another year before trying again.
