Tasted over 3 hrs, bottle from secondary market -nearly semi-translucent med red mild bricking -gorgeous earthy Gevrey funk that has a little of that stewed tomato element next to some developing sous bois -med acidity, med/med- weight savory Gevrey earth faded red fruit sous bois, med- tannins good length -terrific and perfectly in the zone now, a little bit less animale and a touch lighter than this usually is but wonderful aromatics and complexity, better than a prior bottle that may have been a bit off

No formal note but this was typically idiosyncratic and enjoyable - quite evolved with gamey red fruit, mushroom, spice, soft on the palate, quite airy, vibrant acids and a lingering, harmonious finish. Excellent.

Nine red 2006 Burgs (Noize): This was a real outlier, in appearance as well as aroma and flavour, and in the "so wrong it's right" camp, along with things like washed rind cheese and well-hung grouse. Funkily evolved, with raw blood seasoning the intense red fruit, an impactful level of acidity and some mushroomy savour. Actually pretty good, especially with the food, and the red I'm still thinking of the next day as I write up these notes.

Great - complex , juicy red fruit, sous bois.. Still, maybe it could use a couple more years…

In the zone - peaking now. Mazis rusticity . No weird 2006 issues
