  • Another good example of the fact that great labels and marketing do not necessary equal a great wine. This South African red is an attempt at an Italian blend featuring Barbera, Sangiovese and some Cabernet. Unfortunately the hot climate probably prevents the Barbera as well as the Sangiovese to develop their typical acidity structure making this a rather flabby experience with present alcohol and overly sweet notes that don't work well with these grapes. Besides that the wine is definitely on a downward slope by now so if you are still hanging on to some bottles make sure you get rid of them quickly.

  • Very nice "Italian" blend for every day drinking. Short on nose and finish as expected, but nothing wrong for the price.
