  • A beautiful wine as always. These Rayas wines have just gone totally crazy and almost impossible to find. I miss the days.... but you can understand why. There's a nice elegance and ethereal style to them. Fruit. Bright. Fresh. Drinks well. Seemed maybe a touch higher in alc than his normal ones but that could have just been my impression. I didn't check the bottle.

  • Golden honey hue in the decanter, nose of honeycomb, ripe peaches, white truffle, an ample palate that coats your entire mouth in a finely balanced but somewhat full throttle experience (never cloying though due to the finely balance with the acidity) with a touch of botrytis akin to a late harvest Chardonnay of the highest order (sort of reminds me in a funny way of Thevenet's wines, but this is even better). Really impressive and wondering if I should check out more white Rhone on the basis of that experience!

  • PB 50 Rayas Extravarganza (PB's house, Charlottenlund): Vibrant, lively. Rich, bees wax, sweetness ends the show. Love it.

  • The wine was bright medium yellow-golden in colour and offered apricot, peach, quince, mineral notes and first signs of bottle age on the nose. On the palate the wine showed quince, some apricot, some peach, butter, mineral and ethereal notes, and a mild spiciness, paired with medium-level acidity and a good mouthfeel. The medium-bodied wine was elegant and aristocratic, very balanced and very long, and drank extremely well. It resembled a well-aged German Riesling in many ways (except for the acidity). A superb effort; we liked the wine quite a bit. It drank best immediately after opening the bottle, then the fruit declined slowly between lunch and dinner, and the glass we saved for the next day was a little tired. Drink up.

  • The first of 3 bottles I got my hands on back in April. Not easy to find. Spicy nose, perhaps a bit of oxidative notes out of the gate, but then firming up with air to reveal a more floral profile and aromas of white fruit. Smooth and seamless palate with marks of white peach and white pepper. Enjoyed with Niels' pan seared scallops, a great match.
