  • Brought to Tamarack dinner w Jamie/Mila/Greg/Chris. Opening wine of 3. This was terrific. Very fresh but also mature. Great color and nose. Yummy medium body. Good length. All terrific but what is what these stupid Ridge corks. Drink now as it is in a terrific spot!!

  • A garnet color with no bricking along the rim. Lots of fruit, some blackberry, some plum along with the mature flavors of tobacco, lead and chocolate. Incredibly smooth for an "old" zin.

  • Another excellent bottle of this wine. It shows little age in its color, looks 6-8 years old... Nose is rather effusive and probably the best aspect of the wine. Nice floral and perfumed red and black fruit. Palate is smooth and silky in texture, again noting the mix of both red and black fruit/berries. Nice balance with firm natural acidity. Alcohol is not overtly noticeable. Long rich finish. Great with turkey and all the fixin’s...

  • Agree with the previous note - so youthful, has at least two years of prime drinking left. Almost no bricking around the edges. Perfectly layered with spice, bramble, and dark fruit. The alcohol isn’t really noticeable. A treat.

  • In my cellar since release. This wine was decanted at 5pm and tasted through 9pm. Amazingly young in every respect, color is bright translucent garnet with a crimson edge, nose is very fragrant with no sign of age and lots of layers including boysenberry, licorice, coffee, chocolate, minerals, vanilla and black tea. Palate was similarly complex with little sign of any heat as one might expect from a wine that is 79% Zin (14.5% ABV and 18% Petite Sirah, 3% Carignane). Amazingly fresh and layered with a long chewy finish. Absolutely excellent bottle! Great with Mexican food...

(RIDGE LYTTON SPRINGS ZINFANDEL) #4; VaynerPAZZZZZZZZ; COLOR-very nice; NOSE-tea aspect, very tight; TASTE-huge sour tannins, nice mouth feel, much drier that the other 3 Ridge wines, orange peel, hint of leather, little too much oak and off balanced, not in love w/ this bottle; CG-95; GV-87/88
