From MAG. Very niche showing from the start. Dense and ripe, but not overripe. Excellent tannic core to supplement the ripe fruit. On top beautiful tertiary aromas that we love from Bordeaux. Forest floor, touch of farmyard, leather. Gazin is an inconsistent wine and often a bit diluted because they probably over-crop. It looks like the hot 2003 vintage has given them a helping hand.

Un an plus tard, et nette progression. À se demander si la bouteille précédente n’était pas en faute. Celle-ci: Mures, pruneau, tabac, thé noire, et cet arome safranée caractéristique de cette année solaire. Bel équilibre

A bit disappointed. May be the vintage is not good for this wine/ this terroir?
Typical red fruits with balanced tannin, its too polite or not aggressive enough, in other word, not attractive enough, making this an ordinary wine as compared to Chasse Spleen 2000 or Ducru-Beaucaillou 2004...
A bit acidic even after 2 hours of air time.. not improvement with time

(Chateau Gazin Pomerol) #1; COLOR-dark; NOSE-nice bright fruit; like cherry Twizzlers; a little fungi action w/ some dark fruit; TASTE-nice sour cranberries on the back-end; very bright fruit; almost like dried apricots and peach coming through; the initial attack has dried cranberries, then raspberries on the mid-palate with the dried apricots on the finish; nice cedar; the wood integration is terrific; I really like the balance of this wine; it's quite elegant; this wine will really come together in 3-4 years; unlike many from the hot '03 vintage, this is not over-the-top; classically well made; dark fruit; charcoal chalk action coming through on the finish; a good solid Pomerol; I like this wine; good fruit; good balance; drinking quite well (benefits from 2-3 hours of decanting); RP-89; GV-90

Expression un peu limitée.
Troo jeune ou manque de potentiel de complexification?
