  • The 1956 Unico is still a very youthful wine, which really needs several hours in the decanter to open up, displaying an attractive nose of raspberry, coco, plums, dried figs, furniture polish, blood orange and vanilla oak. On the palate, the wine is rich and youthful, gaining in volume as it breathes, with a firm core of tannin which seems likely to always be part of wine wine's personality. I don't have much experience with old Unico, but this was very nice.
