Wertha's Butterscoth drops, peach melba, honey, quince jam and salt citrus.great acidity structure. starting a little bit too fat but after one hour fresher and more precise. At his peak .92-93

From 37,5cl, perfect cork. Dark yellow/gold, darker than the sweet 2003 Hölle Auslese GK which followed. Over the hill, tired, oxidised Riesling, even the acidity has given up, any residual fruit this bottle might once have had ditto. Strictly for necrophiliacs, at least in this format. Full 75cl bottles might still be more enjoyable.

Cruising on its plateau of maturity, and the picture that emerges is consistent. Ripe and vinous style, spicy and earthy, good weight, ripe but fresh acidity, vestiges of white peach fruit, could do with more definition and resonance on the finish. Completely ready.

From 37,5cl, opened but not decanted 1 hour. As noted on 08.06.2015 and 28.07.2017; the development away from fruit to stone continues. Today this showed as a not-quite-fully mature, heavy, viscous Riesling GG with heavy 13,5% alc., good Hochheimer Hölle fruit typicity (apricot/pineapple), impressive in a loud, important kind of way, but not a lot of fun. 89P(?)

A good to very good Hölle Erstes Gewächs, with proper weight and volume (13.5% ABV), representative of terroir and vintage, but vinous rather than vibrant and I would have really liked to see more energy, fruit definition and length. Attractive in its way, but time to drink up.
