Stored in a cold cellar since release. High neck fill level. Perfect cork. Lovely old Pomerol. Needed a long time to reveal itself. Always a problem about decanting old (well for Pomerol) claret. Not decanted. Eventually medium bodied, rounded but just enough fruit for the tannin, well balanced. Best for complexity which I prize above all. Drink now.

Beautiful mature wine. Lots of underbush intermixed with some fruit both in smell and taste. Still some sweet fruit there but the mature aspects dominate. Balance perfect and mouthfeel was spectacular.

Backward nose of black spices, dark woods, burnt earth, smoke , grill , tobacco and heavy forest mushroom with brambles. Extremely austere and herbaceous with maybe just an inkling of fruits. Mostly dark exotic spices of nutmeg, fennel , and really reminded me of the rare vietnam spice called talauma i had quite a bit at this french fusion restaurant in hanoi. This had depth , a bit too complex or complicated for its own good to make it extreme nerd wine with little attractiveness. More leather and dark woodiness showed with time. In fact, I think this still has some more life in it for aging. Not easy to understand and like but i dont deny this is not your wine next door.

Wine-Pages Pomerol Offline (Alba, London.): Bother, TCA. My bottle from TWS. Haven't done well tonight considering the 95 Plince was my other wine.
