Smooth, only slightly varietally correct, but tasty nonetheless. Paired well with typical red sauced pastas. Not much tannin or heat here. Not going to improve with time.

This was very good, but had more in common with a zin then it did a sangiovese. Lots of bright fruits, very ripe, very californian, with a medium body and mouthfeel resembling that of the Seghesio Sonoma Zin. Delicious, but simply delicious. I'm not really down with paying over $20 for a bottle of wine like this. But hey, if you've got the money, and don't want to buy an equally good monastrell from Spain for half as much, then by all means, man.

Drank last night with a pasta sauced with sausage, onion, oyster mushrooms, tomato sauce, cognac and cream. The wine was perfect with the pasta. I have no Italian wines in my cellar, but that may change soon.

Took a little while to open up (1-2 hours), but when it did it was very nice. Could benefit from some additional aging, but drinking well now.

Cherry, currants, sweet flowers, cloves. Nice aroma. Juicy black fruit, cherries, leather. Very good.
