  This wine is surprisingly brooding. Drank over two days. Spicy red fruits with a bright red color. Although not on the Pommard side of Volnay, it definitely has a brooding iron-like minerality. The tannins are a bit more prominent than many Volnays. It’s my first of six.

  I don’t want to create a controversy but Lafon is a master in red...however, his white can’t age (oxyidation is an unacceptable problem with Lafon wines). But he makes incredible red.

  Starting to drink really well. Wild Strawberries and cream on the nose and palate, density and breadth with very long finish. Delicious!

  Very fine burgundy. Strawberry on nose. Good depth. Surprisingly dark in color.
