Color: light reddish brown; thin legs Nose: light - medium intensity. Huge blast of fresh and dried cherries upon opening. Aromas settled down... somewhat complex, but alcohol is apparent. Body/flavors: light body. Mixed of dried cherries and red berries. Not well balanced: alcohol and some tannins Aftertaste: short finish

PnP it's got a hint of alcohol on the nose, but it's mostly dark cherry and mushroom with a pleasant (!) hint of cola and some leather. Just delicious as well, with perfect balance, bright fruit, a hint of sappy/jammy strawberry as well. Great forest floor notes.
Kept on opening up to reveal more of the same but with more depth. Fruits evolved a bit darker and by the end of the bottle there was definitely some plum on the palate. The earthy sous bois notes also came out a bit more to the front. Overall this is in a great place now and should be good for a few more years yet based on this bottle.

Unfortunately, this bottle was well past its prime. It had started to turn. Iron Horse makes wonderful wines, it wouldn't be fair to post a full tasting note on a bottle I should have consumed earlier. However, if you have a bottle of the 2001, it is either time to open it, or well past.

Past its prime. Still good, but like an old lady you've just met, you wonder what she was like when younger.

Great wine, but the fruit is starting to fade away. Drink soon.
