My tasting of 12 Christophe Baron wines. Dark garnet, totally opaque. Closed aroma at first, opened slowly. Deep blackberry and plum aromas. Very full-bodied, black fruits, very concentrated, a bit hot, smoky, but balanced. Moderate tannin, long, hot aftertaste. It might actually soften more with more time. Ric

(Cayuse Vineyards Impulsivo En Chamberlin Vineyard Barrel Sample Walla Walla Valley) Dark to the point of being opaque. An intriguing nose with pepper, licorice, and ripe berries. Richly flavored with mineral and light game. Considerably more tannic structure than the other wines sampled here. 100% Tempranillo. 14.7% alcohol. To be released in 2010. Note: Case production not available until wines bottled this Spring.
