OMG this was great. No sign of heat probs whatsoever nose- boysenberry , seductive berry, sexy fruit nose mouth- absolutely delicious sensuous fruit forward, juicy but still with structure. Showy. A wow wine.

Dinner for Blair Walter at Noble Rot (Noble Rot, Wellington, NZ): Purple red colour. A perfumed, very primary seeming bouquet of black cherries, blackberries and other dark fruit, dark spices and liquorice. This wine drank very pure and primary. Also, very dark berried and quite linear and powerful. Very tight, structured and still tannic, but they're fine grained tannins. Drinking it blind, I thought this was a classy 2010 Vosne-Romanee. On the reveal, I was surprised the Richebourg was a 2003. I didn't find any hint of baked or roasted notes. Another 2003 Grand Cru drinking well. No hurry needed to drink this wine.

Decided to open fairly young because it had a puffy capsule and some light signs of seepage. Looked to have been overfilled and only one narrow strip of the cork was compromised.
Wild aromatics -- game, earth, spice, some heat. Powerful fruit, slightly 03-ish in nature, but not as much so as most. Great balance overall. Touch of heat on the finish, but not over the top. Surprisingly good acidity. Now to 15-20 years.

(Alain Hudelot-Noëllat Richebourg) Bricking medium dark red color with pale meniscus; touch of brett, baked red berry, VA, red bean nose; roasted red berry, baked cherry, raspberry palate with sweet tannins and some charm, needs 3-4 years; medium-plus finish

Bright red. Red fruits nose. Perfume. Savoury notes. Hints of coffee. Structure is there. Great acidity. Balanced. Sweet and fruity. Shared by TL
