  • Held up well. Initially very tannic, but it settled down after a few minutes and was very good.

  • This was my last bottle of a wine I have previously enjoyed. Sadly, this particular bottle did not hold up well and was way far past its prime.

  • this is an old-school blend from three different vineyards. deep garnet in color with a hint of bricking. opens with a nose of dried rose petals and a bit of earthiness. on the palate, the wine is dense but not overripe with fully integrated tannins, pleasant acidity and a ton of fruit. blackberry, black raspberry, and dark cherries are prevalent. there is a nice balsamic undertone to the fruit accompanied by a little sous bois. this is a great normale that is drinking perfectly right now. the fully integrated fine tannins give this bottle a great mouthfeel and an awfully long finish. again, hard to believe this is their normale!

  • Mint in nose
Smooth, fully evolved. Let it breathe and it will soar.

  • Gorgeous rosy pale color, fading to pale garnet pink, with nearly no hint of bricking, no sediment. A totally pleasurable Barolo with something for everyone. Sweet ripe and dried red and black fruits on the nose, whiffs of tar and roses, anise candy. The aromatics gain with air. On the palate earth and tannins are balanced with balsamic notes, and tart red cherries, black plum skin and pulp. Medium bodied, alcohol in balance- not a powerful wine, but so much more enjoyable for it. It was delicious with crusty French bread (mi dispiace, italiani!) and olive oil. The tannins are integrated and the acidity too, indicating (unlike other notes on this forum) evidence of more life ahead.
