  Pronounced Cabarnet Franc aromas, in addition to some mushroom and blackcurrant. Surprisingly youthful, with good fruit. The next day dreg had survived very well in the bottle.

  What an emotion! The magnum was opened and the wine was alive... Left it not more than a half hour opened. 5 of us drank it and every time we had another glass there was another layer, the wine evolved. First very vibrant, colourful then a bit more closed, with a bit of mushroom scent/carbon, then it was in full bloom, very good. Only old wines in large containers (e.g. Magnum) can deliver this. We loved it!

  Dinner with Jay Hack (Les clos, San Francisco): Nose is a bit more limited than the 1982; palate is medium bodied, fruit has faded, structure is approachable and slightly drying, fading red fruit; medium finish. Fading, drink up now. 86-88
