Drinks and Cards (London): Full red/black. Level just into shoulder. Aroma of spice, currant and touch of blue cheese. Very good flavour of redcurrant, oak, spice, nutmeg, slightly subdued and funky versus previous bottles, but still a good meaty/rich note.

1970 Themed Bordeaux Dinner: Medium shoulder fill. This pours light garnet with medium plus bricking. The nose is of iron, leather, raisin, dried dark cherry, sundried tomato, and tomato leaf. The palate is in tact with bright dried red current fruit, with medium minus tannin, medium acid, and a finish that really shows the mature character of this wine with dried fruit and leather closing things out. All in all perhaps a little bit of of a disappointment from this bottle, but still enjoyable and fully mature, drinking just fine.

Crust on top of cork and top of bottle generally pretty funky. Cork was wet to the top but came easily with the Durand. Decanted and served immediately.
Wine was a good colour with bricking at the rim. Nose was mulberry and mouth was tasty but a little more acidic than the prior week's bottle. Finish was not as long.
Nevertheless a very nice for its age.

Cork was wet to within 4mm of the top and broke even with the Durand. Decanted and served immediately. Wine was a limpid, good colour and did not reveal its age. Nose was mulberry and a little vegetal, but it tasted fresh with great balance and a long finish.

Not as good as the bottle tasted a week prior.
