  • Enjoyed this with Mixed Seafood Grill at Roy's in downtown San Diego. We also had a bottle of the 2001 Ardente Cab. The 200 is showing some age although it's still enjoyable. It did open up a bit after 30 minutes, alas, by then our party had consumed the bottle. The 2000 is a tad musty on opening but that blows off quickly. Tannin's are completely resolved, very smooth on the Tongue with a medium finish. If you have any 2000 drink it up. This bottle enjoyed perfect storage conditions from the outset.

  • Still great. Sl less aromatic than I remember.

  • I detected a whiff of that mint--a good thing in Napa cabs, if you believe the folks who dig Heitz Martha's Vineyard bottling--but a bit more oak than I remembered from before. This was good, not great, tannins a bit gritty. I don't see it improving in any way that matters to me. The fruit was pretty subdued by the oak, although it came out more on the second day.

  • Popped let air for 45 minutes, poured then let sit for another 20 minutes or so. Aromas of dark fruit, and mint. Medium bodied w/a flavor profile of earthy, cherry along with a strong mint component. There was also a touch of green pepper on the back end. Neat and somewhat refined, but the mint on this is a little much, overpowering.
Day 2 No improvement, though mint has mellowed. I recall 2000 being a challenging vintage for Napa, in some areas. Don't see this improving, 1 left...would be disappointed had we payed full retail for this.

  • Fresh almost camphor, cardamom nose. Ripe berries, dry and juicy both, smokey, tobacco, long complex finish. Great now.
