Menthol on the nose -- almost like wintergreen. On the palate, currant, blackberry, and notes of cocoa and something savory on the medium finish, with light tannins and good acidity. This is well balanced and tasty, and an excellent value; it's too bad the label no longer exists.
(impression only) Very nice, but on this night, outclassed by Lewelling (regular) and Pride (Vintner Select) of same vintage. Wine is very good, well balanced, but the others stood out more - but note that it may just be as good an all-around wine that didn't stick out in any one direction
