Unlike many Ridge Zins of this age, it's still quite together, tho certainly at its peak. Perhaps it's the nature of the vintage or the location of the vineyard (Alexander Valley) that has kept this wine fresh despite its 14.7% alcohol. Anyway, it's a nice quaff. Not sure why Ridge doesn't source from this vineyard anymore. 84% Zinfandel, 12% Petite Sirah, 4% Carignane.

VAGENIUS describes the wine well. I enjoyed my bottle as I am always pleasantly surprised how well Ridge Zins hold up when stored well. I think this bottle has probably peaked 1-2 years ago and is starting on it's "decline." So if you are still holding a bottle or 2, I would enjoy by the end of 2022 to stay in the bracket VAGENIUS' description.

Nose of raspberries, cherries, and sun-dried tomato. Smooth waves of purple fruit provide a soft caressing wash over the tongue. Mineral and raspberry finish with acidity and light dustiness. Surprisingly fruit-forward and lively for its age... wine of the night.
