If this bottle, - my first of the 2013 Baudry Rosé - is any indication, then the 2013 is a mere shadow of the 2012. Bear in mind that the 2012 was awesome, so a mere shadow is still likely to be rather enjoyable. But the intensity and focus of the 2012 is lacking in the 2313. Sure, it still has the tell-tale strawberries and cream, but the cream is more like milk. And while the nose and palate delivers the strawberries, we don’t find macerated strawberries. A bit of basit slips in on the mid-palate and carries the length of the finish. 12.5% alc. With various goat and cow cheeses and crusty bread. Recommended.

Double Blind Tasting w/ DC Crew (Weygandt Wines - Washington, D.C.): So pale copper color. Nose of white cherries and white roses, floral, peaches, chalky. Tangy acid, lots of minerals, lemon juice on top of peaches, some spice and chalk, too. Loving it. Tasted blind, a confident guess of Loire Cab Franc rose.

Not certain when both of these were popped and pulled, but recall one of them being pulled in August. The 2013 Baudry just hasn’t been up to snuff.

Crisp with light raspberry. Nice sipper on the boat while we enjoy apps as the rib cap cooks on the grill.
