Classic Barolo. Tar, rose petal and anise. Fruit still present, tannins integrated, and acids balanced. Hard to imagine this wine will improve, but it is definitely not on the downward slope.
So long and succulent, with grace and structure, I am thinking Bordeaux. Taracotta, bay leaf, vanilla bean, apple pie, blackberry and allspice. Quite youthful and ever so long on the deftly soft finish; still showing microfiber tannins. Drink now - 2020.

Still open for business. Smooth and easy with mostly resolved tannins but lingering acidity that rounds out the package. Good fresh color with rasberry on the finish.

Found these languishing in a store and gave them a try. I have since come to love this producer. I can't decide which I like better between the Monvigliero and the Prapo. The Prapos are decidedly bigger and bolder but this Monvigliero is so easy to drink and enjoy that you just can't go wrong.
