Decanted 90 minutes. Deep garnet fading to a brown varnish. Medium-bodied, glass- and mouth-coating velvet. Fragrant strawberry, vanilla, and roasted herbs. Red and black fruits forward, with noticeable but not unpleasant tannins. Mild chipotle and chocolate on the finish. Drink up, now.

It's amazing how much of drastic influence a terrior can have on a particular varietal. The characteristic of this Miner Sangio reminds me of the Pinot Noirs from the Mendicino region. Sweet apple wood lightly smoked bacon with strawberries and subtle vanilla notes grace the nose. Smooth, silky, delicate feeling on the palate with a a well balanced tempo expressing dark cherry, dark berries and smokey chocolate. Settled but distinct tannins subside with a strong finish of black berry jam ending with dark bitter chocolate notes. The wine softens further after 1 day with some fig notes ... likely a result of oxidation.

Like all miner wines, I was struck with how smooth this wine was. Light in appearance, but not in complexity.
