  Subsequent notes on this wine from more than 4 years ago. Medium-light garnet in color. Full, forward & fragrant nose of ripe fruit aromas of cherries, strawberries & berries with lovely spice overtones of cinnamon, nutmeg & cloves with floral notes, herbs, earthy/dusty, minerals & a hint of vanilla in the background. Medium bodied with a very good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, ripe red fruit flavors of sweet cherries, tart cranberries & strawberries, spices, herbs & minerals. Lingering smooth finish. Drinks quite well at present & has developed additional complexity with 8 years of age.

  Very soft mouthfeel, with notes of bright black cherry, cranberry, vanilla and a touch of toasty oak. Smooth, delicious.

  Med body. Similar to noir. Still tasty. Bright red berries and cranberry. Spice a nd green herbal notes, rhubarb? Drink now; don't hold.

  Second notes on this wine, more than 2 years later. Light garnet in color. Forward, fragrant & attractive nose of luscious ripe red fruit aromas of cherries, strawberries and raspberries with spice overtones of cinnamon, nutmeg & cloves & floral notes of stock with herbs, earthy, dusty, minerals and a touch of vanilla in the background. Medium bodied with a very good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, lush, ripe red fruit flavors of sweet cherries, tart cranberries & strawberries, spices, earthy, herbs and a hint of vanilla. Lingering smooth finish. Drinks quite well at present and has developed quite well and gained added complexity with a few additional years of aging. It is unfortunate the Saralee's Vineyard has been sold and replanted with another varietal.
