A very well kept bottle which had been cellared by Edmund Penning-Roswell, opened now that it was 90 yr old. Level mid to upper shoulder, but cork had sealed well. Almost no sediment, wine clear, no clouding. Presented on the blind to a mainly wine industry tasting group, fantastically well received, could have been half it's age or less, great colour, plenty of fruit still evident, tannins evolved but firm. Very pleased with this 90 yr old wine from what was a good Bordeaux vintage.

Annual Pilgrimage to Chateau Lanessan (and its 200 year old cellar ); 8/19/2011-8/21/2011 (Chateau Lanessan, Bordeaux): 1929 was never a success in Lanessan. Well kept bottle from the family's reserve. A bit thin and mild. Vitality gone and had some notes of mederisation at the end. Interesting still to try such an oldie but no match to the formidable 1909
