Right bank Bordeaux lunch. This was also drinking incredibly well. Very well structured. Slightly plushier in nature. Feel more of the Merlot here. It's in a very nice spot. Recently picked up a lot of these and very glad to have them.

Lovely refined wine that is starting to fade a bit. Still showing cassis, blackberry, caramel, chocolate with good acidity to support and very smooth tannin. This is not a big, fruit forward wine that are favored theses days but if you want refinement and class Pavie this old will please.

Amongst our line up of 1985 vintages, Malescot St. Exupery, Les Forts de Latour, Lynch Bages and Cheval Blanc, this wine was very distinct in its smell. It lacked the heavy notes of cigar, cedar wood and leather that the other wines from Pauillac and Cheval Blanc developed.
It had an inviting smell of chocolate, smoky oak, mint and black cherry. Palate still possessed some light red fruits but with lively acidity and smooth tannins. We decanted it for 30 minutes and kept it there for the 2 hours duration of the tasting, and it still held till the end. Powerful stuff! more tasting note in finewines.com.sg

Not much going on on the nose, some ripe blue and red fruit, cooked fruit. The palate is a disaster, completely dried out, unripe, over-extracted. Seriously!

Fine Wines SG - Bordeaux 80s BYOB (Fine Wines SG): Nice fruity nose of cassis and grass, and developing caramel later. Still freshly acidic, with blackberry, grass and caramel. Good wheaty caramelized finish
