Community Tasting Notes (2)

  • dark golden color. Nose and palate deep, layered; some honey, golden stewed fruit. A bit over the hill I suppose but still offering a lot of complexity. 91 pts

  • Monday, November 19, 2001 Pleasant light gold in color. Full nose of spice, apple and apricot. But what a disappointment in flavors. (Another wine kept too long?) Almost nothing but apple and just a little spice. Not the mouthweight I had expected as it had neither a glycerol feel to it while also lacking the clean acidity that other ‘trainers deliver. Short to nonexistent finish. As the wine developed, the apple flavor, however, gave way to a pleasant pink grapefruit. With pork loin. 11/19/01
