A soaring nose that fails to deliver the goods on the palate. It seems softer than the last time I tasted it, but still clumsy. Enjoyable for the price point.

The notes are great here, even the ones that appear to disagree. For my part I found myself somewhere between travelinmikeyt and grenik, and I won't add to their specific notes here. As others have noted, the nose rises way above its price point, and/but the structure is right where you'd expect a cheaper Bordeaux blend to place. We enjoyed it most in the first 30-45 minutes it was open, with a perfectly rare hanger steak. As the night wore on, the juice grew flabbier, hotter, and less interesting. No regrets.

For the cost it is pretty good but it lacks depth. I drank it over three nights using my Coravin. The aroma has slight notes of tobacco with strong notes of dark red fruit. The taste is mild with light tannic notes and a sweet berry flavor. The nose is much better than the taste. I wish it was slightly more complex but will not complain because it is pretty great considering the price.

Perhaps just not my style. I felt that the wine maker tried to make a big, bold wine and put it on a skeleton that could not support that weight. It fell short for me and ended up as disjointed, especially in the middle and finish. Too sweet for the level of extraction. Too hot. The nose however was excellent with some spice, floral, and blue fruit. Very complex nose.

Finally a non-corked bottle. Best on second night, when tobacco and cedar are at their clearest.
