After a pop a pour I was very dissapointed with the intial taste. However, after a 1 hour decant this tasted wonderful. I recall a nose of dark crushed berry and wet earth. the flavor profile matched the crushed berry nosed coupled with toasty oak and wonderful dusty mountain tannins. The body was full with a dark red hue. This is a great value at $21.
God I love mountain fruit. More often then note, waiting 7 years for Napa mountain cabs to develop pays off!

One hour decant. First impression seemed like a Cali fruit-bomb. Throughout the night it settled down and showed more nuance and depth. Much better on night two. Color was a good, rich, dark maroon. Legs were thick and slow. Nose was strong and clean: mostly earth and cedar with little cassis in the background. As stated above, this bottle didn't really hit it's stride until the second night. Once the fruity pebbles faded on the palate, there was good tannic backbone accompanied with enough acid to give some interest and pop. The finish was sufficently long with decent complexity. It was a great bottle, but lacked that extra dimension to push it into the 90+ catagory.

Great every day cab but I was hoping for more given the 90+ reviews from WS and the fact that it was an '04 napa cab. It had decent structure, good color, nice hint of fruit on the nose, medium finish with some leather, but at $30 it's not the great deal I was hoping for.

To my palate this is the real thing. It starts off with a nose of medium to medium heavy toast oak, which at age 5 still dominates. I think I taste a slight volcanic soil profile. It is starting to show some maturity. The secondary flavors are starting to evolve. The cocoa, and maturing vanilla are drowning out the slight amount of green bell pepper. The top of the mouth tannins show it will still age, and might become even more interesting. There is a richness to the acid that encourages some more aging. Very smooth. Nice job.

This wine is lovely with some age on it. Fairly bold, but classic Cabernet.
