I bought this wine when we visited the winery several years ago. It was rich and delicious the first day, but the second day the wine really dropped off and was probably barely a 90. The score is from the first day. The moral to the story is: drink up on the first day!

Deep ruby color with great body with beautiful legs. Leather, tobacco and plumb very prominent on the nose. Loads of tannins signaling great longevity with this wine. Firm with some dark fruit/plum on the front of the palate with some spiciness on the finish. Still a bit hot an tannic so I should have kept cellared for a few more years but I love wines from Stags Leap district and Pine Ridge is just a consistently good wine. Try to be patient and keep this cellared for another 3-5 years but if you can't wait you will still have an awesome wine that approaches others from Stags Leap that are much more expensive.

Liked it a lot. Right of the bat you cherrie and bright fruit. That is quickly followed by the richness and tannins of cab. Really good.

This is the best Cave 7 vintage we've had. Bolder, more structured, more complexity than the prior vintages. Easily five years left in it.
