Deep red color, nice Cabernet nose. Fruity on the palate, sweetness and secondary aromas are there. But the finish is short, Complexity disappears. Too old? Most of the Phelps Cabernets develop much better… 2006 was a problematic year for Cabernet.

Densely colored. A touch of funk in the nose. Typical mid-valley Napa Cab with some Rutherford dust + too little acid + too much alcohol (14.5%) for the structure. Fruit fades into a drying finish. Could use less power and more finesse, but I guess that's the way Phelps (and many others) made their Cabs in the mid-2000s.

Opened at 2:00 Pm and was imbalanced and oakey. By 4:00 pm it hit it's stride. Balanced, long finish, acidity throughout. Could have lasted in the cellar 3-5 years but drank great today.

Hanging in there. Nice color, and deep fruit, with no significant signs of age. But, there is lack of finishing depth in the wine. Front palate is all there, but then fades as it washes down. But, still a nice wine.
