Tremendous wine even at 13 years. Plenty of sediment to attest to this. At open it had an aromatic nose of roses and peaches. The flavors were a little closed so I set aside for a couple of hours. Began to open up and first flavors were apple and limestone dust. Fabulous mineral mouth feel. Fairly long finish.
So refined like a Grand Cru burgundy, which I am sure it would be identified as in a blind tasting; so sophisticated and balanced with delicate fruit. I love the way Aubert wines can age so gracefully.
Gold. Nose of cream and a hint of oak. Taste was smooth and a hint of pineapple. This is the first of a Cali Chards that I have had that I could see fooling the Burg lovers. Nice, but I liked it younger.
