Not Your Average Varietal (Amy & Scott's): Drank a small glass at a tasting. The fact that it was served after a Caymus did not help it, as this seemed like an elegant balanced wine. Nice complexity, bright red fruit, earth. A bit rustic, medium-bodied. This was 2 hour slow o, and I wonder if it is slightly past peak right now.

A classic! I bougth the bottle back in 2009 and it is still showing potencial to evolve for many years.Left in decanter for 90 minutes. As soon as yo open the bottle a deep ruby, beatiful massive red colour show that this is a wild horse. In the nose, a explosion of ripe plum jammy flavours with a soft, supple mouthfeel. After 30 minutes, develops a intense black berry fruit with spicy black pepper and clove. After 1 hour, provides elegance and freshness on the palate with a flavor profile of red berry fruit, with some floral, with hints of violets and a long persistent finish of cassis flavors and mineral notes. A master piece.

Not decanted. A bit disjointed with strong acidity and sulfur dominating that palate. Alcohol remained in check, but the blackberry and dark plum fruit is covered up. Maybe time will help. Drink 2016-20.

Drinks fairly now. tannines are correct but still too alcoholic. with a little more time should be better.
